We found a new place! A few blocks from preschool and not that much farther to kindergarten. Perfect.
Piers is doing really well heath wise. The surgery seems to have made a vast improvement and we are optimistic that we will have some good years ahead without as many Crohn's issues. I haven't talked a lot about it, but Piers' health has been pretty rough over the last year (hospital visits, iron shots, overall lack of energy) and to have some hope that things are getting better is huge for us. Jack is doing really well allergy wise here in Salt Lake because of the dry weather and I am going to try to make some changes in the new place and see if that makes a difference when we get back. We are also thinking about allergy shots. Piers had them when he was young and it seemed to work pretty well for him. Has anyone done this with their children? I would love any feedback (katiehollott@gmail.com). Sylvia seems to be fine so far, so I am crossing her fingers that she takes after me (I could eat rocks and be fine and I have no allergies).
Back to the house: it is near friends, a shared space (we are the main and top floor and there are two smaller suites in the house), and I am hoping we can stay there for a while. We will be flying back on the 19th and celebrating Hiromi's birthday on the 21st (first day of spring, so hopefully the sun is out). And I am turning 29 this Thursday, we celebrated last Sunday with my dad's spaghetti and meatballs and cake, of course. I am looking forward to more celebrating Friday night with friends at the Red Iguana...
And yes, my mother gave my daughter a mullet, she denies it, but photos don't lie.
